Pirates of the Elizabethan

At the end of July we all packed up and took our first major family vacation! The destination was Cuttyhunk Island, a place that the Allards have been going for about 17 years (give or take a year or so). Cuttyhunk is a magical little island at the end of a chain of islands known as The Elizabeth Islands. These islands are located just south of Woods Hole MA (Cape Cod) and in between Martha's Vineyard and the coast of Massachusetts. If you are looking for a quaint little place to get of the radar, Cuttyhunk is it! We were lucky enough to be joined by Davis' Grandma and Grandpa Allard, Aunt Whit and Uncle Ryan, Davis Godfather Tyler, The MacLeods, Bergevins, Great Grandma and Grandpa Esthus and many other friends and family! Davis loved all the boats, playing in the sand and waves, being outside ALL the time, and last but not least, driving the golf cart! We enjoyed crazy fresh seafood (lobster!), lounging by the beach, and spending time with family and friends that we don't get to see enough! All in all, it was so much fun. We are still shaking sand out of things! Cannot wait until next year!

Cuttyhunk Island...ahhhhhhh!

The golf cart...Davis' obsession for 8 days!

We're Back!

Hi friends and family! After an almost 4 month hiatus, the Munchkin News is back in print! Honestly, I have no idea how we have gone this long without a post...shame on us. We have had some pretty big things happen since the last post, the biggest being that we have moved! In May, we packed up our old house and moved a whopping one mile away. As of the begining of April we really weren't planning on buying a house, but we found one that we just couldn't pass up and here we are, happy as clams living among boxes and mayhem! We couldn't be happier, Davis now has a great yard and lots and lots of kiddos close by to play with. We have only had one problem with moving. Our beloved dog Crew got a little too stressed out with the whole moving process and one day he reached the end of his rope with Davis. Poor Davis was just trying to give Crew a hug and got nipped in the face. My parents were so amazing and offered to take Crew in because we could not imagine having to give him away. Now poor Aspen gets all the attention, which now a days consists of being bounced on with some hugs thrown in. We miss Crew so much, but are sure that he and Davis are happier this way.
The summer has been so much fun so far. We even got to see Great Grandma and Great Grandpa Esthus in April (yes, I know that was spring not summer). It was wonderful to catch up and we will see them again in a couple weeks when we head up to MA to Cuttyhunk Island! We have discovered that Davis LOVES the water and has NO FEAR (which of course scares Mom and Dad half to death). Wether it be the bath tub, sprinkler, pool, lake or boat, he loves 'em all. Needless to say, he is always wearing some kind of flotation device because he will jump into any body of water he sees. We just spent the fourth of July weekend down at Tablerock Lake with some great friends and little Anderson, who is just three months older than Davis. Those two became quick friends and were even giving hugs to each other by the last day. I think that Davis wishes we could take him home with us, but something tells me his parents might not be on board with that.

Well, it is hard to cram 4 months of our life into a few paragraphs, so I will let the rest of the story be told in pictures......

We miss you Crew!

Davis on Easter...yes ,that is how long it has been.

Let Them Eat Cake...Lots and Lots of Cake

This past Saturday Davis had his big birthday bash! He invited all his family, fellow baby yogis and many other friends to celebrate. This kid sure knows how to through a party! We had a great time visiting with everyone. Davis' personality is really starting to show and we can see that we have a social butterfly on our hands. Every time a new guest showed up, Davis' smile just got bigger and bigger! It was a wonderful time had by all...now where to put all these toys?

The AMAZING cake that tasted even better than it looked!

Nothing like eating cake by the fistfuls!

Phase one of Smurf transformation

Totally in his element

This chair was the hit of the party, all the babies wanted a piece...or should I say an arm. Gotta love the expression on this little guys face!

Thank You to everyone who came from near and far to celebrate with Davis! XOXO
